International Environmental Expo
and Sustainability Conference
The Future of Building and Energy
October 18 and 19, 2008
These are exciting and prosperous times for the green
building and renewable energy movements. Southern
California is becoming increasingly environmentally
conscious, but many people do not know where to go for solutions. The
European Business Council and the City of Beverly Hills are on the forefront of promoting a cleaner, more
energy-independent Southern California.
Green
Days in Beverly Hills will showcase
commercially viable solutions for present and future
building and energy challenges, with the goals of:
• Educating the community
about the advantages of green building and lifestyle
• Showcasing, for homeowners and business owners
alike, commercially viable green products and systems
available today
• Promoting green lifestyle through the exchange
of information and technology
• Providing a forum of information on future environmental
problems and their potential solutions
• Demonstrating the City
of Beverly Hills’ leadership in and commitment to green construction and sustainable living to
preserve the character of the city for generations
to come
For more than a year, the EBC has been researching non-profit centers, manufacturers and municipalities who understand the economy of green. It becomes increasingly clear that environmentalism need not be at odds with financial success. In fact, there is enormous potential to profit from this budding industry.

SPEAKER
FORUM - THE BUSINESS OF SUSTAINABILITY
Saturday & Sunday, 10AM to 12:30PM
and 2:00PM to 4:30PM.
Keynote speakers and panel of experts discussing green building, renewable energy, transportation and water conversation - technology and solutions for the present and the future.
In many European countries, the culture of environmentalism has an established
history. Many of the leading “green firms” operate out
of England, Germany, Italy and France. Perhaps as a consequence
of Europe’s wider public discourse about the environment,
technologies and products have developed that have yet
to make their way stateside.
While the U.S. is clearly behind, we are not out of the
picture. To remain competitive, we must capitalize on the
innovation and creativity that has always defined the American
economy. California is leading this effort, in legislation
and in popular support.
