enato romano is a los angeles businessman/entrepreneur. born in italy, romano recieved theatre and film degrees at l'accademia d'arte drammatica in rome italy, and studied at the royal

academy of dramatic arts in london.

too active to sit around between takes, romano made an inevitable progression from actor to assistant director to production manager on films shot in europe by billy wilder, vittorio de sica, dario argento, martin ritt and john frankenheimer. the entrepreneurial spirit took over completely by 1975 when he established the new york offices of euramco international films to distribute european films in new markets with mondadori in the creation of italy's first private television network. marketing television and motion pictures led to producing and to the romano library of broadcast material.

living in los angeles since 1978, romano has acquired and improved real estate on the westside and culver city. characteristically, he saw a need for a new supplier of high-end building stone and opened piazza europa on an empty lot in rancho park, improving the lot as well as the lives of designers, architects and homeowners who now have ready access to stone piazza europa imports from all over the world. the ability to visualize what should be done and then set the right machinery in motion to get it done defines the entrepreneur.

in 2004, he established the european business council (ebc), los angeles, to promote trade between southern california (in particular) and member and aspiring member nations of the european union. with the city of beverly hills, the council presented green days in beverly hills in 2007, an environmental expo and sustainability conference.

renato romano serves on the boards of the westside neighborhood council, the greater west los angeles chamber of commerce, the holmby westwood property owner's association, and the british-american business council. he is a board member of the board of governors of the city of hope and is a paul harris fellow of the beverly hills rotary club. he belongs to natpe, afma, and mifed.

romano is married to alice campbell of new york. they live in westwood and have two sons and a daughter. mrs. romano is the past president of the independent writers of southern california (iwosc).
